This is a demonstration of one of my Teac X-1000R tape decks. I will probably be selling this one in the near future.

  • Hey Rickk6612, great video. I'm a total reel-to-reel newbie, and have a Teac X-1000R at my church. I'm trying to get some of our old reels converted (saved). The Teac has been up in the loft of the church for years, unused. I can get it going, but after a minute or so, the reels stop moving. Any helpful hints you can offer? Thanks.

  • @darthwadester @darthwadester @darthwadester @darthwadester Unfortunately, I don't really know all that much about repairing tape decks. There is a guy here in Chicago named Sam Palermo who is the expert on repairing Teac tape decks. I can give you his contact into, if you want. Or you can go to this group: tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/reeltoreel/ and ask for help.

  • It seems kind of spamy that you come and post your advertisment on my video page without even asking permission, or offering some kind of trade for advertising on your page, etc.

  • Don't they also call this a Half Track? great for recording.

  • @00Gladiator1 No, this machine is a quarter track machine. It is able to record a total of four tracks on the tape. It records two tracks in one direction, then the tape reverses, and it records the other two tracks in the reverse direction. A half track machine can only record two tracks in one direction, and then the tape is full. So you only get half the recording time on a reel of tape.

  • Does X1000R or X2000R have a IR remote control to this machines?

  • @FooNado I think there are some guys who build IR remote control units for these machines. But the only remote control they came with originally were wired.
