Harvey Milk was not killed because he was gay. He was killed as a result of a fight over the job loss of the assassin. Moreover, don't forget that a straight guy got killed too by Dan White. Therefore, this has nothing to do with sexual orientation.

@ETworldjone This is true but the issue that causes so much controversy was that Dan White received such a ludicrous sentence - for the murders of both - and this appears as, if not directly influenced by homophobia, certainly insensitive to the treatment of homosexuals given what Milk had done to help the cause, before his death. Regardless, a tragedy that both men were killed.

Dan White was fed up with the two face and liar named harvey Milk, he was no hero he talked about how he wanted to be treated equally, yet he only spearheded causes that benifited him and the gays. What always bothered me about this case is that if it's true that Dan White's motive was to kill Milk and the Mayor over his job, then in his mind he thought that the job he lost was his only option. Obviously that was not the case. People think that no other options are out there. White would have found another job.

@ETworldjone That's wrong. Dan White resigned because he did not like the gay-friendly politics going on. When he didn't get his job back he killed the two people who stood in his way -- the people who did not support his anti-gay politics. He was a straight married Christian and a murderer of the most evil intents. That says a lot about what we can expect from people of that type. They are evil -- the devil's pawns.

@EpicRubberband idk, i don't support homosexuality, but i sure;y will not force them to become straight. if my kid tells me he is gay, i would certainly question it, but wont force him what he is not
