The 'Thunderbird' is actually a late block B-17G that was originally built under license by Lockheed Vega and painted to represent the famous 'Thunderbird' of the 359th Bomb Squadron, 303rd Bomb Group that flew out of Molesworth. The original
'Thunderbird' was crewed by over 500 different airmen during her combat career.
The B-17 in the video is operated by the Lone Star Flight Museum and is a former photo survey aircraft.
