  • This is incredibly precious footage. Thank you for sharing your experience. It must have been an incredible feeling.

  • The 'Thunderbird' is actually a late block B-17G that was originally built under license by Lockheed Vega and painted to represent the famous 'Thunderbird' of the 359th Bomb Squadron, 303rd Bomb Group that flew out of Molesworth. The original

'Thunderbird' was crewed by over 500 different airmen during her combat career.

The B-17 in the video is operated by the Lone Star Flight Museum and is a former photo survey aircraft.

  • "AS MUCH AS I HATE WARS, IN A WAR NOBODY REALLY HAS EVER PROOVEN TO BE BETTER THAN ANYBODY, WHEN IT COMES TO WAR WE ALL LOOSE".......BLAH BLAH BLAH POLITICS.....

.BUT ONE THING FOR SURE I KNOW...THESE BIRDS HAVE BEEN THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EVER BUILT, IN THE ENTIRE AIRCRAFT HISTORY!!

PROPELLER PLANES SUCH AS B-17,B-29, B-24,B-25. LOVE TO SEE THEM FLY.

  • What a beautiful bird... They sure don't make them like they used to. Great footage.
