Los Angeles' scourge of billboard blight and the inaction of it's public officials. Incompetence? Or criminal complicity?
A recent article in L.A. Weekly exposed the extremely corrupt nature of the billboards company and los angeles city council memberships efforts in addressing public outcry to reduce billboard blight.
But, as is the case in many closing, corrupt, and failing societies, the wishes of the people go unheeded to the obvious benefit of it's publicly elected employees.
I am simply doing what I feel is my duty as a Los Angeles resident to reach as many capable and willing minds as possible. Expose the billboard giants and call your local councilperson and let them know that we don't want the coming flood of LED lights soon to blind us and follow us even beyond the comfort of our homes and blinders.
Not only that but there is a very unnofficial project in the works in collusion with Councilman Eric Garcetti to erect a superstructure the likes of which Hollywood not only has never seen, but couldn't imagine our leaders could be so blatant to believe we would approve. (We don't) But that won't stop them. Let it be known, inaction in the face of disregard of our wishes comes at the highest price to us, the people.
Unless you're a criminal profitting from these dealings yourselves, then stand up and voice your opinion! Tell everyone you know about this! (more)
