  • Writing the note names on stickers is a great idea. I never thought of that one. Keep up the great work and practice, practice its the joy of learning something new that will keep you motivated.

  • Sorry man, but I did this video a few years ago and I don't have the time to redo the video in that format.

  • I created this out of a graphic I found somewhere on the net. then I used Fireworks to create hot spots with a pop up to show the note names then I recorded the whole thing using my mouse to mouse over the hot spots and talk at the same time.

  • When, you drop down tuning, does all the notes change?

  • @Agnes135 When you change the tuning of the guitar all of the placement of notes changes as well. This tutorial is for guitar players who use standard tuning E A D G B E from low to high.

  • THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!

fially i found a video that finally gives explicit steps how to play the notes. im subscribin and adding this to my favorates

  • Thanks for the kind words! I also have a 2 part video here on YT about learning chords and understanding the voicing of a chord. So that you can understand what notes your playing within a chord and know what the top note of any given chord. Many of the chords are extended (jazz type) chords but don't let that scare you. If you know a Major scale then you can figure out complex chords very easily.

  • @Agnes135 they do but ... i highly reccomend that you stick to playing in standard before you go off in to the waters off down tuning

  • Name of this program?

  • using a guitar is confusing but fun once you get it! Lol (: ..........btw do you know where i can buy a capo for my guitar? (:

  • Broo this is good..

  • EXCELLENT instruction. THANK YOU!

  • @DExxxxxTR Another tip is to become good friends with all your EF's and BC's on the neck. E and F are always a 1/2 step (1 fret) apart as well and B and C. If you know those, then you know A is a whole step (2 frets) before B, D is after C and before E, G is after E. So knowing the EF's and BC's you know the whole neck. However, you should try and first master the method is this video.

  • @dummeswe When I first started I printed out little labels with the note names of the 5th and 6th strings for the 5th, 7th, 8th, and 10th frets and taped them to the top of the neck of my acoustic. It was very helpful and as this video explains, once you learn the 5th and 6th strings you know the whole neck.

  • When you're teaching yourself guitar and theory this is the video that should be a must watch. Thank You
