  • I like this. I am a wing chun practitioner, and knives really scare me. Ths is one of the few techniques that I've seen that looks like it could work without getting your arm cut up in the process. Other techniqies were not as convincing to me.

  • Thanks for your comment. Keep practicing.

  • it's nice, in my shorinji kempo training we are not doing like this but this works as well as my technique do :) 5 stars

  • Thanks. Keep practicing, you're one of the good ones.

  • To be honest Nobody attacks with a knife in this manner. Who holds a knife high in the air then brings it down in a stabbing motion? - Nobody! attacks just dont take place like this. If you wanna see how hard it is to defend against a knife get someone with a marker pen and tell them they have to draw on you as much as possible while you try and disarm them.

  • Sir, you may not attack with the knife in this manner, but somebody else will. There are many ways that an attacker can use a knife and I know for fact that this is one of them. I agree with you that defending against a knife is not an easy task, but is better to defend yourself and maybe get cut once or twice then not do anything at all and get killed.

    Very Respectfully, Sifu Serrano

Just like a real fight might be like! I like it. It's self-defense.

  • He keeps saying "the problem with this is..." The problem with this defense is that people don't attack with knives by chambering the knife over their shoulder, stepping forward, and doing the classically reinforced and completely unrealistic "icepick" strike. Further, opponents that make one strike and pose so the defense can be executed don't help to illustrate the inherent impracticality of such training.

  • @hangzhoujack I like this but I'm not sure how effective it would be under the stress of an actual attack. I'm sure with enough training one could make it work but I feel its to complex of a technique.

  • The thing is idk if all schools of wing Chun teach stuff like this. I've seen other Knife attack defense and they look really infective.

I guess it comes down to the particular sifu.

  • NICE :)

  • good technique, do you have one for underhand stab and a lunge stab? thanks

  • BETTER THAT FREDY vILLARI SHAOLIN FU....

  • always get off the line with a knife attack, another good thing my sifu tough me is never to stick out your arms out in a knife situation"keep them close" also keep your eye on the attackers wrist.

last thing he told me,its not like the moves chances are you will get cut !!!!!

  • I didn't know they did knif defense in Wing chun....I thought that was left to the Jujitsu and krav maga players....
