@TheGapYears : Great to hear about the PhD! Best Wishes and Good Luck! If there's anything 25 years in the "Real World" has done for me it's given me a yearning to go back to Academia (and stay there as long as I possibly can, the people in general are cooler). So I think you're on the right track there.

To be honest I don't think I will ever feel grown up. I to much of a Kid and it sounds cliche But, I don't want to grow up. I mean I know I have to to an extent but when it comes to just being me even after kids I don't want to change, and will probably do my best not to.

I had similar feelings when I was in my late 20s. I guess I never really realized I had "Experience" until my mid-30s when I was finally feeling comfortable with adulthood (but believe me, there's plenty of people who know me who'd say I never grew up), yet still never really knowing what I was doing with my life.
Incidentally, great to hear about the Linguistic stuff, you're doing and being recognized for, well done! (Noam Chomsky is my personal hero, BTW).

@rodneyj42 Noam Chomsky hates my type of linguistics, hahaha. But thank you, I've just started my PhD, and I'm already feeling a TEENSY bit more grown-up. Being a teacher does that to you.

I've had to move home because of a temporary disability. I'm 29 and it feels like I'm a teenager again. I can't wait for this part of my life to be over.
