Because he allowed himself to be smeared as a "radical, Muslim, socialist" he will now have to include republicans in his cabinet and adopt a 'centrist' platform. His strategy to win the election pretty much guarenteed that he will not be an effective president. Look for a hard-line against Palestinians and Iran, which will come to haunt us all.
He only won by 6%. And even the most basic 'liberal' policy will now be seen as 'proof that he is a radical'. Nice freaking strategy

Obama could have ended most of McCain's crap by simply offering a rational explanation IMMEDIATELY.
