This video game was nominated for a Satellite Award from the International Press Academy. The game's music, composed by Winifred Phillips and produced by Winnie Waldron, was universally praised in reviews such as "beautifully cinematic original score" from Gaming Horizon, "a really good soundtrack" from IGN and "Light and fun. The musical score is done well" from USA Today.
This track, entitled "The Wriggle Sweet Room", is used in the part of the factory that makes this type of candy. "They're called Wriggle-Sweets! They're sweet and they wriggle! No really - they're quite affectionate, and no matter how far you throw them, they always come wriggling back!"
Based on the Warner Bros. Pictures feature film directed by Tim Burton and the classic Roald Dahl book, the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory videogame allowed players to explore deep inside the factory and play the beloved story as Charlie Bucket. Players found a Golden Ticket and, along with four other children, won a personal tour of Willy Wonka's factory guided by the notorious and reclusive candy-maker himself. By helping the Oompa-Loompas and restoring order to the factory, Charlie earned the respect of Willy Wonka and won an unexpected prize.
The game was developed by High Voltage Software and published by Global Star Software, a division of 2K Games.
