I did a little project for the National Science and Technology Centre a while ago on children's nursery rhymes.

Here, two of Larry Winiwini's daughters, Garumawuy and Yokala, and Yomunu's daughter Whitney, show what they know, with a bit of prompting from Dhanggal. These are popular songs among children of north-east Arnhem Land. Filmed at Gikal' outstation.

  • Delightful! A nice Christmas day treat. Thank you, girls, and thank you "cameraman". :)

I love the way a child's mind can be busy doing one thing while the body is busy engaging in something else altogether.
