CanadaMotorSports - Big Rig racing at Race City Motorsports Park,Calgary, AB. June 2005. Hard head on into the front wall at the end. Look for Swervin' Merv Piderney, Troy Piderney and Peter Van Dyke and his famous Pink Foot Peterbilt amongst others.

More... Big Rigs racing on the oval. Kenworth, Peterbilt, Ford. 900 HP 2000 ft/lb torque monsters racing on the 1/2 mile oval at Race City in Calgary.

Merv Piderney's crash into the front straight wall was one of the hardest ever at the track. Fortunately, Merv suffered only minor injuries due to the well constructed safety cage on the Peterbilt.

  • @89s10lvr

Race City will be open for two more seasons, we can only hope anything more than that. A great track all the way back to 1985.

  • Good point, I've updated the info, thanks for letting me know.

  • I really hate to say this, but I would go further and pay more to watch this than I would Indy Car racing!

  • Nascar is lame comared to this because all the cars are very simmilar with rigs they handle different and like all racing fans like is crashes and rigs make for good chrashes.

  • @coolnala Get your facts straight idiot im guessing your from california. The new trucks 2010 and newer have urea injection into the exhaust which cleans it up a whole fuckin bunch. Their sayin that in places like california the air comin out of the stack is cleaner then the air comin into the intake. So now if a truck smokes that means its broke you can look at the stack of a new truck and you can't even tell if it's running. So isn't that the opposite of enviromentally dangerous.

  • @89s10lvr no there going to be adding on to the dump in like 4 or 5 years

  • @CoolNala Not really. Diesel is by far more environmentally friendly than gasoline anyway you look at it. That big black smoke is just carbon that quickly settles onto the ground without going high into the atmosphere. NO emmissions and CO emmisions both lower than any gasoline engine. Despite the Huge size of these machines, they probably don't use that much more fuel, do to running at lower rpm and giving the fuel charge more time in the engine to do work.

  • @89s10lvr You guys should go burn down the fucking condos.

  • More environmentally dangerous than NASCAR!
