English Hornpipe/reel. I got this from John Offord's 1st edition of "John of The Greeney Cheshire Way" published earlier in Wilson's "Companion to the Ballrom" (1816) and later in the EFDSS publication "Hard Core English". I also recorded this for the "Hardcore English" CD set that accompanied the book. Some people know this from the Spiers and Boden recording: John Spiers got the tune from me initially though he may have researched another version (there are 8 variants in the Hard Core book!)
Technical note:my oakwood D/G melodeon was made with two non-standard low notes: a C natural instead of a D on the G row, and a G instead of F# on the D row, making possible a full scale down to low G.
Lovely tune and your melodeon has a really beautiful sound.
