@VendPrekmurec there are a lot of theories i heard about it.
Its even said that macedonian army that gone on the east after 5 centuries got back on the balkan through russia eastern europe and back on the balkan ...
Makedoni were always Scynthians (old Russians) from river DON in russia,. Their people are today still called "DONI, DANI, DONTSI", the ones who live around river DON.
Great Tartaria, Great Vedic Scynthia, Great "Hyperborea" - Daaria .
Great great job, congratulations to Jorgo - finally one Greek that speak Macedonian, but just to be equal we have to say to him malaka=педер and from now on we are going to be friends :)
@ShkatuIka Yeah from my point of view, the Byzantine Empire stretched from modern day Bulgaria to modern day Greece. After Ottoman Empire destroys Byzantine Empire, the Greek land of the Byzantine Empire fell into Ottoman occupation.
Now you see, after many years under Ottoman rule, there is a rebellion in Athens, which the people there named themselves Greeks, after freeing themselves from Ottomans, and named their new country Greece.
This may not be the truth, its just what i believe in mate.
@Manchevo yes; I would compare Greece to Switzerland. There are multiple ethnic groups and cultures which have been assimalated under the broad term 'Greek', originating for the Roman 'Graecus'; which was just an incorrect generalization for hellenistic tribes. Also, many lands occupied by these ancient civilizations are now Turkish; so I guess some Turks are also 'Greeks' in that sense. In my opinion modern day Greece is most closley related to the Byzantine Empire, a sort of Medieval America.
