Australian Alumni Awards 2008 in Indonesia

The winners of the inaugural Australian Alumni Awards were announced at a gala dinner on 16 February 2008 at Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta, Indonesia. The Dinner, which was supported by 12 Australian universities, managed to attract over 650 guests and numerous media attention.

Guests were also entertained by performances from fellow alumni, including renowned jazz guitarist I Wayan Balawan, an exclusive fashion show by Sally Koeswanto, a dance performance by Bellydance Jakarta, and a performance by DJ Delizious Devina. The MCs for the night were alumni Tommy Tjokro and Dian Krishna from Metro TV.

The Australian Alumni Awards is an initiative of the Australian Education International (AEI) Indonesia. It is designed to acknowledge the contributions to Indonesia made by tens of thousands of Indonesians who have studied in Australia.
