The solution to that dratted mob grinder bug where mobs stop spawning after a while! Also a confirmation of the theory proposed by Hypnotizd as to why this happens.

I now have a mob grinder that continually produces drops, even when left overnight.

I made the grinder and all the maps during 1.7.3 but suspect the same issue and solution occurs in 1.8 (though I have not tested this).

  • After they stop spawning, put it on peaceful for like 30 seconds then back on whatever you were on. I'm pretty sure that could work.

  • @D3StR0Y4mike Yeah, I bet that would work too. However, my aim was to have it go continuously without any player actions needed, so I could leave it overnight and come back to a full inventory of gunpowder.

  • Nice and informative video, but what I'm really interested in is the program that you were using, do you have a link?

  • @ihaztehSNIPAH Sorry I forgot to put that under the video, it's there now.

  • its been ages but if this info is still relevant - why not just set up a 25x25 block minecart track with a crossover in the middle where it waits for 10 mins. then running the perimiter again should despawn the frozen mobs.

  • @ShikogoFox i hink it does right now im having now mobs spawns but im going to try this fix and see what happens.

  • So.... Does this bug still exist in 1.0?

  • DO IT IN THE SEA. no more problems!

  • @Pwegoable I agree that he could be doing wonderful things for the world with this level of problem solving ability, but (no offence to @Drogulus1 of course) he probably couldn't be finding cures for diseases. That takes a whole lot of education, regardless of his native talent, as well as particular interest in the subject. Seeing as he's debugging software, I doubt his core interest is medicine. But it could be! :P

  • This explains why my modest 4 level 11X11 spawner on skeyblock does better than my 40 level 26X26 that i built on my server.

  • wouldn't biulding the grinder in the middle of an ocean also solve this problem?

  • i have great resepct for you, congratulations for your results! after seeing this video i really hope mojang will see this. really.

  • @AnotherAnonymous9001 ~Unless your interested

  • Wow this is boring as shit
