Not to burst your bubble, but only 5% percent of the women could live like that. The rest toiled in abject poverty. And those corsets were murder on your innards. But at least the music was good!

I wish I'd lived during those waltzy Sound of Music like days, with the fancy flounced dresses and gloves et al!!! So beautiful, elegant and romantic! When women didnt have to work so hard, but dress up in corsets and look pretty! Awww... :( But then, im black. Maybe if id lived then, I would've been a slave?

André Rieu is doing a million times more to keep Strauss' wonderful music alive than people who can only complain that the execution is not 'perfect'. I'd much rather listen to a spirited performance that inspires me to get up, dance and enjoy than sit in a stuffy opera house and be subjected to the 'perfect' performance.
And yes, I understand your German perfectly, it's my German writing that is not up to standard, so I type in English.
