In all fairness, this is what's being promoted on Saipan to the tourists...so this is what they see as our 'cultural dance'. Maybe the programs should be changed to better reflect OUR islands' and peoples' culture. Good dancing, though! :)

Hey, wait a minute! I clicked on the video coz it is written, "Saipan Island Cultural Dance". I don't think so! This is something you would see @ the polynesian cultural center or their native islands coz it's their culture which I love & respect. It is a beautiful culture from a very beautiful & unique place, i think. I think if we should upload videos of our home to promote or just show off how proud we are of our home & culture, then we should be showing our cultural dance instead. PEACE!

The historians said that the pasific Islanders came from the same stock as Malays from Malay archipelago.However except from their physical appearances,I dont see any similarities in language and cultures between both groups

Respond to this video... Oh and btw, the uploader isn't from there. They don't know the difference, so people from Saipan aren't claiming its theirs. They are just performers, great ones as a matter of fact. Also, if you've ever been to an Aliis's show, they talk about each and every dance: about what it means, and where each dance is from. Get it right. You're not justifying ANYTHING.

@dizxbyfire is it your life's duty to scan every Tahitian/Hawaiian/Cook/Samoan video out there and point out what you believe is wrong or right? The group performing dances for Tasi and the Ali'i's. A Polynesian ran group. Yes, most of the dancers are from other ethnicities, but is it wrong? They are actually one of the BEST in the Pacific. They've danced for Samoa, Hawaii, Korea, Japan, etc because they were proven the best and danced amongst the best. Learn and know about the group.
