just do whatever is more comfortable within reason, tour players are a lot fitter and more flexible than most of us, they're working out and hitting thousands of balls a week

I agree with what he says, I'm more consistent when I bend my elbow, I also generate more power because of a bigger back swing. Usually take a nice divot after the ball too.
If I concentrate on my left arm being straight i start the downswing with my arms instead of body and hit some fat shots.

With all due respect, I'm not sure how you can have that opinion.
Many great golfers (notably Els) have dead straight left arms going back.
But many don't. I'm not so sure I'd go up to Fred Couples and tell him his technique is bullshit.
