@Tevearris Nah, dude, that just means you play almost completely by ear, which honestly makes a guitarist sound more natural in my opinion. Well, you definetely don't HAVE to have that stuff down to be a good guitarist, but you will want to have some knowledge of that stuff so you can dig yourself out of musical ruts when you are writing stuff, it's really helpful. I'm only starting to get my music theory stuff down after playing by ear for 5 years.. so :P

Rock the fuck on man!
I always find that the modest guitarists are the best.

Thanks kiddo! Humble prosperity in the face of fierce adversity is a rule for me. Do you play?

Of course :P been trying to stray away from playing covers because if I'm in the same tuning as a song I know I won't be able to play anything but that song.. so what I've had to do is find a tuning that I don't know any or very many songs in, and at the moment that's drop d flat. haha

@cloud4056 Haha,I know exactly what you mean. I cheated around that problem & just bought more guitars so I don't have to tune different,I can just grab a different guitar. I don't know what drop d flat means though. I never learned anything about anything with guitar. I just do things I guess is the best way to say it haha!

@Tevearris well if you know your string names , which from the highest to the lowest are E B G D A E, you tune each one down a half step and then tune your low e string to match your D string, which is a "drop tuning". It lets you play one finger 5th chords. flat means one half step (or one fret) down, and sharp means one fret up.

@cloud4056 OK,well yeah I know string names,I just don't really know the whole flat, minor, sharp stuff means. Or any actual chords. I'm pretty much just a poser I guess haha!
