does this let me access my songs from the downstairs computer? my computer won't download the new version of itunes which is needed to download music to my new itouch.

I just found out how to stop the home sharing icon from disappearing! do this:
1- If you have already set up home sharing, go to advanced in iTunes and turn off home sharing.
2- go in to the home sharing tab and set up home sharing
3- do NOT press done! :Plol that's what worked for me :)
