@ganarzon the USA spent almost 25 milion dolars on a pen to work in space in the sixtys for the space programe the russians used a 25 cent pencil ! . there is somthing to be said common practacaltty. food for thought?

@vonkaunaz God, ONE F-117 was shot down out of ONE THOUSAND sorties over HEAVY guarded airspace, it kind of prooves pretty good that it was damn effective.

By the way, history kind of tells us that russian fighters are not the best. look at the MiG-29, it has been shot down 5 times by American aircraft, while it hasent killed any.

Military powers are superb at spending money on things of dubious reliability. If the defense of a country despised by the U.S. as "third world" (Serbia) detected, tracked, and put on the ground one of the USAF´s hyper advanced over-engineered over-expensive F-117s what would happen if any of these yabba dabba over hyped American ships flew over Russia? Unless there´s something about Stealth we the average Joes do not know, it is stupid to pursue it. Spend more on what´s already proven: ICBMs.

@Zukhov1945 ABSOLUTLY! I have nothing but admiration for the ability of the russian people to endure the most awefull hardships and perservier. Well, at least Generations past, I'm not to sure about this current one we have, in russia OR the USA...or anywhere for that matter. I think they pop out of their mothers with cell phones to their ears already talking, and the Mothers are all single! What MAN leaves his child???

@atinlockup Actually russian 80s technology is still great and comparable with the rest of world, and they've been improving also in these difficult 20 years... Seriously, Russia has nothing to envy from US technology, maybe just the stealth thing and somethings in the air field, but for the rest, Russia may also have better technologies in certain fields, like anti-air, tanks and missiles in genre.
