The main focus of this video, compiled from clips recovered from the excellent 1978 program "Fast Forward," explore the bizarre world of competing and incompatible video and TV standards. Video and color compatibility aren't just a matter of 21st century digital video -- they've been issues one way or another for many decades. The wacky world of test patterns and trouble slides, and wonderful segments with the esteemed TV engineering consultant and speaker Joe Roizen, make this video entertaining even for non-techies.
This video also includes a number of hopefully interesting/amusing beginning and ending clips (not necessarily from 1978) bracketing the main clips. All from the Vortex Video Archive.

I have that same Fast Forward show. Also on Betamax tape! No better quality though.

Good ghod; I *remember* Fast Forward. Just barely. Excellent work capturing off 32 year old Betamax; keep it up. :-)
