Hwyel Dda's law is similar in principle, surely no one Human can applaud people starving on the streets or generally going without during an age of plenty (except from the establishment and ruling elites who form social policy) as this is a reflection of what we are as a society, humanity always gets in the way of profits.

Note how the Church condemns the priest very strongly but the people in the street are very understanding. "Zero-tolerance" is only an acceptable strategy to those far removed from reality, like politicians and the fat, greedy priests at the top.

People are starving on the street and instead of letting them take a can of food to feed their family you shun them and say it's wrong. Think of it as a really fat man gouging himself on food and them slapping the hand of a skinny child reaching for a crumb. there was a time when the story of robin hood was nobel, now everyone is a money hungry greedy sad sack of shit.
