Anti-racism Rally Surrey, BC

Anti-racism Rally Surrey, BC, Canada to commemorate the life of Mr. Nirmal Singh Gill, brutally murdered by racist skinheads.

The march was organized by many grass roots organizations throughout British Columbia. Some opposed the rally because they feared it would incite more violence. They were wrong. The march brought everyone together and showed our united strength to fight racism.

The corporate media also opposed the rally. The smaller community based media supported the march and participated - to their credit.

Funny, how many of the people in that march come from the most racist prejudice places on earth, the middle east. Why don't they do their anti-racism marching over there.

Canada will be indicted for murdering aboriginal children in the Indian residential schools. Do a google search on “Hidden from History” or “Canada’s hidden holocaust”. Know your country before calling yourself a proud Canadian. I call my self an Indian because I am proud to be an Indian!

@resplen1 Many Native people have legally binding agreements with the governments of Canada and the US that guarantees rights to land and all the minerals and goods below and above the land in perpetuity. Some of these agreements have been honoured, but some are still, after many years, still before the courts. This is their land, from north to south, east to west. Remember that when you go to McDonalds. Its their land. After then its the corporations and the Banks. You are just a tenant.

@MrIndianSupporter I strongly disagree with you. The whole reservation system that natives cling to is the real issue they should stop taking government hand outs and move off the reserves and participate as equals on a municiple, provincial, and federal level.

Why is it that suicide rate among native teenagers is very high? These native tanagers have nothing to look forward to in life because the whites dont give them opportunity. I have spoken to a few native teens and I asked them if they have finished high school. They all said it was useless because the whites will not give them jobs and so many of them commit suicide or get into drugs and alcohol in the hope of dying.
