Hey, there is nothing new under the sun! I know all about the ancient mystics, I have read about all of this, and once I thought the new age teachings, all of them, were the answer. But now I know better, I know that all of it twists the truth, and it is a lie of Satan himself. Believe what you will, but if you keep searching, you will find the real truth. There are many false teachings floating around, this is one of them. God bless.

I loved the way the interviewing priest just totally creased up with laughter, particularly towards the end of the video.

We are told in the Gospels that Christ learnt through suffering (as well, obviously, as in the normal, less painful, experiential way, and from his parents' example and instruction).

@pete123434 no it's not. he gave the biblical foundations. have you ever thought maybe your beliefs are 'new age'? he's digging out the deep truth that the mystics (including john) and early fathers of the church knew and were lost when biblical literalism took over. biblical literalism is the simplest, less useful. the soul of god can't be understood by literal reading. one has to go through many many layers to understand what he's talking about.

Where Rohr's talks about necessary suffering as a precursor to awareness of Truth is so dead on. This past year I went through a personal period of hell and came through it with a broadened understanding of God I never thought possible. I often wonder if that process is the baptism through the fire of the Holy Spirit Jesus spoke of. A burning away of the ego-self to illuminate the spirit-self.
