Conservative group Freedom's Watch today launched ads in Kentucky in support of the Iraq War.

In the ad, the group uses the mother of a solider killed in Iraq to tell viewers another 9/11 attack will occur if we change course.

  • Ehm, correct me if im wrong but... Isn't Al Qaeda in Afgenistan? Didn't they attack Iraq claiming there had nuclear weapons, wich now is clear they don't have.

Then you get the American goverment attitude, let everyone think that Sadam caused 9/11. So we can stay in Iraq even now everyone knows we attacked them without a proper reason.

(Again correct me if I'm wrong)

  • Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez (the man who was in charge of Abu Graib at the height of the prisoner abuse, and the commander of all coalition forces in Iraq from June 2003 to June 2004) on the situation in Iraq:

"There is no question that America is living a nightmare with no end in sight."

  • Wait, we're making PROGRESS in Iraq??

    Where have I been...

  • YUKK Yes I believe there is pressure to stay and they are give a big bonus to stay in. I think they offered him 35 grand tax free if he re uped in Iraq. I wish there was a draft and more Americans would share in wars we get into, and also think harder before they start one. Peace

  • Bos, this also... Soldiers are trained differently than you and I were. They use a battle buddy system now. While it does make for greater unit cohesivness, it also makes soldiers not want to leave at the end of their contract. They feel a strong impulse to reup because their buddies are still there, this even when they have families at home who need them and the phycological pressures become ever increasing.

  • YUKK I agree about the time home thing. I think it is awful and it is hard to imagine going back to war so many times. Once was enought for me in Vietnam. Maybe I am a chicken shit but no way did I want to go back. the other cruel thing is telling them they are going for 12 months and then when they are close to going home extending their tour by 3 months

  • I think that would be irrisponsible though. Why? Because those running the war will not use the remaining money to get our people out of harms way. Regardless of that issue, not passing the the leave time bill was quite cruel.

  • Yukk Your wrong the Democrat congress can stop the war by not bring a funding bill to a vote. 11% approval, they are hideous windbags, they disgust me and we need them all to go. This is my friend Americas Geovernments War

  • The Republicans in Congress voted against all legislation to end the war. They also voted against giving troops adaquate leave time. They own the war. Without a majority vote the architect of this disaster "George Bush" can veto.

  • Did you not notice that, while it was easy to get the US unto Iraq because we were pissed off, the British were dragged in kicking and screaming? To me, this suggests someone who may dictate to Presidents and Prime Ministers. I keep sensing something that I can't see.
