...Come on, these Republicans were all upset about Petraeus-this was one newspaper ad-these are the people that ran a television ad in Georgia with Max Cleland, who lost half his body in Vietnam, in the same ad with Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. That's what Republicans do. And the person that rode into the Senate on that ad was there voting to condemn the Democrats over the Petraeus ad. I mean, these are the people that funded the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. The President appointed one of the principal funders of the Swift Boat ads to be an ambassador, but they're really about the Petraeus one... From C&L

@AliceNchainz011 Unfortunately, even when war is necessary to protect our country, you're still going have cowards evading and they should face the consequences of doing so. I do agree with you there should NO EXEMPTIONS for the beautiful people's kids because they're going to college or rich daddy knows the right person in Congress. The ONLY EXEMPTION should be if you have a medical condition; and, then should have to at least serve in the medical corps or something, but not 100% exempt.

@Mikey77B Why does it have to exist? If a war is just and necessary, surely a country would have no problem finding volunteers to fight if their freedom and security were in mortal danger. I can find other things wrong with the draft, such as rich kids being exempt, either through political influence or college deferments. Also, some people are just not cut out for the military. Better to have a military full of people who genuinely want to serve because it is their choice.

@AliceNchainz011 I hate the draft as much as the next guy, but it HAS TO exist. The only thing wrong about the draft is it should be 21 or the drinking age should be lowered to 18. If you're old enough to die for your country, you're old enough to drink and be respected as an adult in EVERY way.
