    No, it just might leave a little bit of residue on the casing. I saw it on a YouTube comment so I might be talking lies but even if it does leave a residue on the case any effect will be solely cosmetic.

    Fake smoke is available that you can spray into the detector, but it leaves a residue on the casing.
