A second look at the opening day of the magnificent new station building and the Albert Barnes room museum.

n.b. This material, together with Part 1 is available on a DVD at the special price of £5 plus £1.25 p/p. See website for details.

There were five locos in steam:-
1. Joan the original loco and one of six remaining.
2. Simon Townsend's Cagney.
3. Sutton Belle from the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway.
4. Red Dragon from Windmill Farm Railway.
5. Pet - the Kerr Stuart look-alike from Sherwood Forest Steam Railway.

I met up with a lot of old friends and made a few new ones. This was the first time in ninety years there had been so much steam activity.
This material and more filmed recently and on the day will appear in our Steamin' Around in 2007 DVD at the end of the year.

Please go to www.pmvideo.co.uk for further information.

  • The 4-4-2's slip a lot at the start, is there a gradient coming out of the station? Possibly due to the six heavily laden coaches?

  • how big is that Miniature Railway?.....

  • Same as the WFR = fifteen inches between the rails. i.e. about a quarter full-size.
