@mnpd007 size is where you start, Use any cheap coin to learn then round up some silver. I like the 1$ gold plated Sacajawea coins best for a mans ring, a woman's ring you need a smaller coin to start with.

Alloy is not an issue but some people have allergies , most coins are good stuff.

Very cool! I would love one of those! I have big fingers (yucky I know) and a gold ring is way too expensive! That turned out great! I wonder if you could put some kind of scroll work patterns in it, or hammer it for a different finish?
