No tricks, No graphite nut, No gimmicks or "upgrades"!! Stock Strat. It all comes down to proper setup. The goal is to keep the string tension the same in three locations: behind the saddle, between the saddle and nut, and between the nut and tuning post. With a properly shaped saddle and nut and limited friction, bending and tremelo use should not be a problem. Things that help are as follows:

1. Tying your strings properly at the tuning post. There are several videos on youtube that explain this.
2. Ensuring the nut is cut correctly and allows the string to freely pass through. A little pencil lead or graphite lube helps here as well. I still have not found a better solution than a standard bone nut. All the gimmicks out there with rollers and balls, etc.. have always caused more problems for me (and believe me, I've tried them all!!!)
3. Ensure your saddles are not pinching the string. To eliminate grooves, use a small file and follow up with some fine sand paper.

  • make a lot of bends, then it will go out of tune. and if it goes out of tune by bending the strings, just push the whammy bar ounce and its back in tune ;)

  • @ShortFingeredShreder strat trem was initially designed by fender to be pulled up because back then all the strings were heavier and it made it easier to bend the note higher. That was leo's primary purpose for his trem. the room it had for divebombing and other crazy wobbles was a mix of happy accident and some desired side effects.

  • Sod graphite. Dragonbone ftw.

  • @ShortFingeredShreder

Man you have to tell that to Jeff Beck, he just don't know anything about that!

You have some serious flaws in research skills dude!

It was designed to be set up to pull up a major third, according to Leo Fender!

I set mine up so i can pull up a forth, and there is nothing wrong with that at all, it works just fine man!

  • @pleximanic The Strat tremolo isn't meant to be pulled up...

  • @micjustmic

yep!!! but qhen you are not a pro musician and cant pay some tech to help with the guitars setup the fruduas setup is an awesome help and a real player like me (even if i have the money) likes to mess around whit the guitar trmolos, cleaning and tuning, and all that stuff. is part of been a musician.

  • But you are not pulling the bar UPWARDS and you are not bending the strings!

  • My chinese made Axl Strat knockoff does that too.

  • This system working only if you don't push up (for example) the "G" string on the fingerboard, Will be goes out from tune....

  • my american standard strat never goes out of tune and i use my trem all the time i havent tuned it in months

Yes, it's awesome, if you don't mind having to hit the vibrato after EVERY bend.

I used to work for a blues guitarist as his tech, most of his guitars were vintage Stratocasters and by simply setting them up properly, and using a small amount of graphite on the nut, I was able to keep them floating, in tune and to stay 'close enough' in tune after vibrato use, and/or bending strings.

A working musician couldn't/shouldn't have to deal with Frudua's setup. It's not practical.
