Only Living Boy is a band that is hard to constrict to a genre. In their debut album, "Only Living Boy," they cross borderlines like grunge, blues, reggae, and folk. From the Hendrix-esque "How Lovers Have a Ball" to the Celtic-influenced acoustic jam "Waking Up" to the capitalist reggae-rock love song "I Will Own the World," Only Living Boy defies expectations.
This one here's a cynical ditty called "Man," which is my personal favorite song on the album. The distrustful, bitter mood of the song reaches its eclipse towards the end with Joe Cirotti crying out: "what I've made - and what I say - is mine, all mine! What I've earned - and what I've learned - is mine, mine, MINE!"
Only Living Boy is:
Joe Cirotti - vocals/guitar
Eric Curley - bass/vocals
Trevor Newcomb - drums
