Many shooters still doubt it's possible to hunt the prey from the long distance(50,60 even 80 meters) with dankung slingshot.
Here is a clip show a target practice in which a man hits the cola can 50 meters away. A duck or rabbit is at leas five or six times bigger in size than cola can. Hunting them from 80 meters is no so difficult and often done by many shooters. Concerning the power, the shooters majoring in ballistics have written some papers and proven a steel ball(11 mm or 12 diameter, bigger than 12mm diater is not recommened , too big ,too costly and dangerous) with 8 strand 2040 or 1745 tubing is enought to hunt those preys 80 meters away.

  • showing birds being taken from great distances. I take my hat off to you I just wish I could do that Dankung enthusiast.

  • Making a video of taking pheasants 80 meters away is almost impoosible because you dont have a chance to do it. But ,please believe me, hunting a pheasant 80 meters away is possible and occasionally happen here by skillful shooters. Dont shoot the chest, the neck insteadly. After hitted, the pheasant can hardly run and fly.

  • So rush to it and catch it. Frankly speaking, it accounts on 65% skill plus 35% luck to hunt a pheasant from so long distance. Concerning the power, I dont know how much Joule you rifle gun can deliver. But we have found when big ammo used, the slingshots do have much greater power than some guns such as a very popular airgun here in China which was also used to hunt pheasant many years ago. Mr Jorg Sprave have many findings on the energy of slingshot ammo... Thanks

  • My god I need some tips on how to do this what is your draw length and how long are your bands

    A Dankung fan .

  • 13 cm to 77 cm. 4 strand. hitting the object locating at 50 meters to 80 meters away is not so difficult. Raise your slingshot a little higher for longer range and look at the object from between two tubing. Practice and make the fine ajustment, you will master the long-distance shooting.

  • Continuation:

  • 40m is simply a lie. 50 you can't even see the target. although a slingshot projectile could be so fast and heavy to take down a target, the shot relies on luck, on wind, etc. slingshots can shoot with decent accuracy at not more than 10-15m

  • two words... video editing..... skip to 4:40 to see the shot

  • Nice shooting! Although i prefer natural forked, flat-band slingshots. More power :D

  • that took for ever

  • it happens at 4:40

    just so u know

  • Just got back from rabbit hunting (theres alot of rabbits in my neighborhood) with my slingshot, i have a marksman, But i didint get to see any rabbiits except one, is there any thing you recomend for rabbit hunting, slingshot or ammo?

  • I certainly dont disagree with you , I just wonder how much power the shot has when it hits the target as a pheasant is a very powerful bird I shot one in the chest from around 5 meters with a powerful air rifle which I still own and have taken alot of game with it, it did take its breath away for a couple of seconds then it flew away and dissapeared over the tree tops,so to shoot at a target 80meters away with a slingshot does seem hard to comprehend. saying that I have seen several video's .
