  • That is a very clunky way to listen to music in the car. Instead, just stream it using A2DP Bluetooth. Many newer cars are beginning to finally support this but you can get it in ANY car right now. There are many aftermarket stereos that have A2DP Bluetooth built in but even if they don't you can add it. One example device is GoGroove Smartmini. You get hands free phone and stereo music from your phone without touching without phone.

  • @jimroal my car doesn't have bluetooth and I was hoping to show folks an easy way they could listen to all the songs they have on their phone using just the interface on their stereo. Unfortunately, with the new (2.1+) Android versions, the USB initializes so slow that the stereo will usually abort before it can read the card. Great suggestions of yours though. I might have to think about it sometime. For now I just use a USB hard drive or thumb drive, which is much easier.

  • is there any way you can control the music with your phone instead of the stereo? because that would be alot easier

  • @chilldyl11 Yeah maybe it would, but there is no way to do that from the car's USB at this time. Maybe in the future they will write that into the Android OS and car stereos, which mostly support iPod technology.

  • @chilldyl11 if you use an Auxillary cord you can

  • @chilldyl11 Some models of Kenwood support the Kenwood Music Control App for Android. It plugs into the USB port.

  • @chilldyl11 If you want to use the phone to control it, just use the auxiliary jack...

  • @myztklk3v Yes you have to be really careful with the levels on your Aux In from a phone. And I'm with you. When I did this video, my phone was on Android 1.5 - Now that I'm on 2.1, it fires up the USB menu too slow, and my deck wants a response quicker than the phone is able to enable the USB. So I'm going to revert to a regular thumb drive instead of using the phone. 16 gigs of tunes :) love it.

  • @ajb9501 You know, I was just thinking that! ;)
