@metalrod23 You are right, the doors were so heavy they would drop down near the door handle and you are right, you had to lift the door up to get it to close.
-
@1969pontiac1 I remember when you had to pickup on the door to slam it shut.

@1969pontiac1 Don't forget your raincoat. LOL

@TheLizardKing1967 No, not really.. Pontiac might had made it. However, naming cars G6 and G8... I for the life of me do not understand who was over marketing at Pontiac. At one time, they were the Sport division of Pontiac. They sold more 77 GP's than any other year. maybe everyone knew they were going to be smaller and that is what drove sales up. Like in my post below I had one, doors very heavy, but when it rained you could here water moving around inside at the bottom of the door.

If it was so great in 1977, why did Pontiac downsize the hell out of it in 1978. mmmmmmmm

@optio4 You are right, 5 years ago I came across a 1977 Grand Prix LJ with 95,000 miles and you could tell it was not 195,000 miles. It had the two toning and velour Buckets. Everything worked even the air was Ice Cold. It had the 400 4 barrel and it would smoke um. I wish I had kept it, The person I bought it from wanted only 2,300.00 for it. It was in my drive way and a older man stopped and wanted to know if I wanted to sell it, I said not really, he offed 5,500.00.I let it go sorry I did

If it was the "The most beautiful car in America", well, why did Pontiac downsize it in 1978 and ruin it. No wonder why this GM company went belly up. Way to go Government Motors !!!! LOL
