Here is a 1909 cylinder recording by Bob Roberts of 'My Wife's Gone to the Country, Hurrah!, Hurrah!'. It is being played on a 1906 Columbia BK Jewel Graphophone. This is a 2 minute cylinder. The song was written by Irving Berlin in 1907 and caused a little social ripple by those who firmly believe in the institution of marraige - namely some preachers got up in arms. It is a fun little song and plays very well on this machine. Please visit my website http://www.grampaphone.com.

  • The BK Jewel plays very well.

Was that Buster Brown's dog wandering past halfway through?

  • Totally cool! I can't believe it's from a hundred years ago and sounds so good!
