Here the rangrej is GOD , to whom the poet is addressing about the colours of his own life , being that the desires of love in his life towards a pure devotion towards the almighty, being the shaper/ colourer of his own life. A lot of sufi songs can easily also be addressed towards a loved one since pure love towards another is the same as if towards god , since GOD is ever present everywhere and therefore in all beings.
