  • @hi10spro yeh i think ur rite.. cos the ball comes so quickly u have no time to do that.

  • @A550RGY HAHAHAHAHA good to see a correction--it takes a good man to do that

  • @hi10spro Whoa I was just reading my comment from 2 years ago and I'd like to correct myself. Volleys against the wall do have a benefit, despite any shortcomings. It at least teaches you solid contact and does encourage the short prep, like Gary says.

  • ground strokes vs wall depending how far are you will make good of your footwork and preparation. practicing vs a wall a nice wall is always beneficial.

  • try it...it's harder to volley against the wall.

  • That's true, but I think the other side is worse. Namely, when you hit volleys against a wall, you are:

    1) contacting the ball lower than in games,

    2) trying to pop it up high (so that it can land high on the wall and return to you in an acceptable arc) instead of a nice, crisp, level volley, and

    3) the ball is coming at you very, very slowly, unlike in real games.

And for me, wall groundstrokes aren't about my quality of shot, it's about solid contact and feel.
