@kimbo99 I think its not very relevant to judge an artist according to the numbers of CDs he sold ... btw, i believe mireille mathieu actually tries to mimick Edith Piaf, though she has not her talent nor her voice... She's is just very good at shouting. For those who appreciate what she sings, i think the more impressive song she performed is in "Paris Burning".

I also have every Piaf record.Mireille sings with Pavarotti That requires a very good voice. Why dont you just say you prefer Piaf and stop listening to Mireille?. I adore them both.

This is one of the most moving and authentic vocal performances I have ever seen. I dont understand french, but I know excactly what she is trying to tell me. Another female performance in this league would be "I Loves you porgy" with Nina Simone (the old live version from the sixties)....Check it out.

Whoever says Mireille Matthieu does not have a good voice does not have ears to hear, no offense to anybody, I do not think it is fair to say: "tries to mimic Edith Piaf, though she has not her talent nor her voice"... nobody can imitate or mimic a good voice, voices are unique, but it can happen that someone will born with a similar voice from the past.

Honestly, this is the best version ever for me. Maysa say a few things wrongly and Jacques Brel never makes me cry. Mireille, herself, she feels every word, she cries with the music, she's absolutely fantastic. Of course, she's no Edith Piaf (which I love more than life too), but it doesn't mean that she isn't a good singer, because, my darling, if you think so, you're absolutely insane! Anyhow, Mireille is amazing and no matter what people say, I love her more than everything in this world. <3
