Adam and the Ants were awesome up until "Stand and Deliver". I still remember how pissed I was when I finally got their 2nd album, it was the gayest thing I ever heard, even Culture Club had more balls. Their was a band at that same time called "Tempole Tudor" and the very few songs I heard from them sounded very much like The Ants, and they had the same look except for their hair.. Check them out if u ever get the chance.

I was in High School when all these new British bands starting catching our ears here in the U.S. (inc. The Ants). Thank God for college radio and WLIR Radio in N.Y. cause mainstream radio wouldn't play them at all. America was terrified of the British Punk Rock scene so any band that didn't sound or look like eg; Toto, REO Speedwagon, or Chicago, etc was tagged "Punk Rock". Adam and The Ants, R.E.M., B-52s, The Specials, The Jam to name a few... Some real anarchists huh??

As a teenage kid that loved metal bands like Metallica, Slayer, Nazereth, and stuff like KISS - I used to hate it when MTV played stuff like Depche Mode, Adam Ant, and U2. Nowadays, I actually love to see these old videos because they remind me of simpler times as a kid. The eighties hair! Parachute pants! Remember the people who wore Member's Only jackets!? Sodas costed 50 cents! Kids could buys smokes for their parents at the gas stations!
