Who cares if in Italy they pronounce it "Mayrio"; in America (and Japan I guess) They prounounce it Mario. Mario is from Brooklyn for you newer gamers. Mario even says "Mario". So, are you telling Mario how to pronounce his name? When the game tells you how the name is said for a character, that's usually what his name is in the game.
