This was one of the best news intros I have ever seen in my life. It was a sad day in 2003 when they changed it to the other graphics.

The name of the theme is "Impact V.2" and it was made by 615 Music.......WTVT was the original client for this theme.

I miss this theme a lot. From 1996-1999, it was also used at Fox 4 in Kansas City.

This does look a lot like the 20th Century Fox logo, even down to the angle the logo is shown from at the end.
And I like the diminutive searchlights in front of the desk.

I first saw that open the night before I started working for FOX 13. It was the first time I'd seen a newscast on that station, and the first block blew me away! Eight years and two stations later, it's still impressive.

oh well i wasnt looking at the set, i was paying most of my attenchen to the opening, but wow, the art director was clever on that one.

...no...after the open, when the transition happens, look at the bottom of the front of the desk the anchors are sitting at...there are lights in the floor moving back & forth.

Its not a desk, its ment to mock the fox movie opening. And theres a city in the background.
