No. Adkit says it right. If it were pronounced how you say it, it would be spelled Booch.

Booch would be pronounced differently from both the correct pronunciation of Butch (mine) and the phonetic mispronunciation of Butch (Adkit's).

Butch rhymes with putsch. But putsch does not rhyme with booch. Booch rhymes with hooch.

If you had called Robert LeRoy Parker by a name that rhymed with hooch or with much, he would have shot you in the face.

I play a roleplaying game called Legend of the Five Rings. A large part of it is based on Japanese samurai culture and the rulebooks are great at giving out details like that.
