  • *shakes head smirking* just like a loud mouth. speaks without thinking or knowing what hes talking about. check out my other two videos.

  • stock whips

  • what do you mean 'stock' whips? Curly Dekle himself made these whips

  • that are cowwhips not bullwhips

  • no. the term is bullwhips. that is a term that has been used since the 1860s when the Florida cow hunters rounded up cattle for the Confederacy.

  • Rikardon, I have been working with whips professionally and as a hobby/sport since 1981. I can tell you that those are, in fact, based directly on the design known as the Florida Cow Whip. They are NOT bullwhips, but are in fact closer to a stockwhip design in that they have a thong that is structurally separate from the handle. A bullwhip's handle is an integral, NON-REMOVABLE part of the whip.

  • Curly braided his whips from the tip to the handle. This eliminated the knot at the tip. In order for the whip to "crack" it has to travel at least 750mph to break the sound barrier. The knot could cause the whip to waver. He was taught this method of braiding by his father who learned from his father, born in 1824.

  • You are right about the history, but these are more commonly know as Florida Cow Whips.

  • Tho stock whips do usually have longer handles then bullwhips, the length of the actual handle doesn't matter, its more rather, WHAT the handle is.

What you have here are Florida Cow Whip. In no way are they bullwhips. Cow Whips usually have a wooden handle with a ball cup in the end and a whole in which the stands(idk if they actually have a name) coming off the thong(or tail/lash) are feed through to attach the thong to the handle. The history in the style goes back to the Spaniards I think.

  • I was just about to post such a comment

  • Idk maybe im wrong i do know that you got yourself a pair of amazing whips I wish i had one more like these.

  • Im certain these are stock whips.

The extremely long handle with the free moving whip attached. A bull whip has a short handle,

typically a ball joint for the cup of your hand at the base of the handle and has a hardened curve where the whip is attached to the handle typically curving down towards the ground like you coil it in that direction. Idk. maybe its a custom bull whip. i dont know a lot.

  • Agreed

  • haha wow, nice... :P
