  • You sound very precise with very steady tempo. Lovely!

    Do you play for dance?

  • @GJCoyne thank you! Yes, I play in several ceilidh bands; Fendragon, Ethel's Cats and Four Hand Band (which is just two players!) English Rebellion and also play for Pig Dyke Molly Dancers.

  • Beautiful......do you think I could learn to play this on a C/G Anglo Concertina? What key is it played in?

    Thank you............. Yvonne

  • @ysfried1 Thank you - I'm playing it in D, but one of the source manuscripts has it in C, so you could play it in C on your Anglo concertina and actually be even more faithful to the tradition. As for playing it on an Anglo concertina, look for a YouTube video Spiers and Boden playing the same tune - John Spiers is playing Anglo concertina.

  • Written by ?

    or is it trad?

  • @brakn it appears in the Joshua Gibbons manuscript of tunes collected in Lincolnshire in the years 1823-1826.I doubt if an author is named but I can't check right now.
