  • "Hold That Ghost" is my all-time favorite Abbott and Costello movie, and the Andrews Sisters singing at the end is the icing on the cake. Thanks for a great post.

  • These movies were amazing. The world was at war, America had not yet entered the war but it was just a matter of time...hard to believe so many innocent people were dying when these movies were made, but they provide the comic relief the world needed...and needs now but never will see the likes of this again..too much celebrity

  • HOLD THAT GHOST is also my #1 favorite Abbott and Costello film. I love both their performances in this film.

  • @alfcab ~ LaVerne was the genius behind their harmonies and choreography, and she was above any conflicts with her sisters. Maxene and Patty, on the other hand, were another story. They were always at each other throats, right up until Maxene's death.

  • i wonder if maxine & laverne were ever jealous of patty

  • I love the Andrews Sisters and only from the Abbott & Costello movies when I was a kid. I love this song especially, and this movie (This and Buck Privates). Thanks for posting.

  • @rachaelb32002 Download helper for Firefox will do the trick. However, some stuff like this might be copyrighted, and thus illegal to download, so if you do don't go telling the neighborhood, mk? ;]

  • I noticed the change, but it never registered strongly with me. Lawyers, being the grasping, clutching, covetous old sinners that they tend to be, (and I know this from the inside) it would not surprise me if there was litigation. Barratry is the altar the legal "profession'" prays at. Just check with the lawyer that sued George Harrison (My Sweet Lord) for infringing on the Chiffons' "He's So Fine" . Rediculous. But I beleive it was settled for an undiclosed amount.

  • @rslkel Dr. Buzzard changed their ending (Amora, ....Amora be mine...) do you know if there was a lawsuit? See them on Dinah Shore (with Sean Connery no less) and performing live more recently.

  • On one hand one of my favorite songs from an A&C movie. On the other hand, a product of Universal movies not having faith in A&C. The first scene and this last scene were added later. The original movie stared with A&C working in a gas station and ended with Costello in bed, pulling a chord to summon a butler but instead yet another body fell out.

  • @nicksacop you have to remember something the war that is coming is the greatest war the world has ever seen , there will be no comic relief , the comic relief in that time is due to the fact that more people were Godly then, than now , the sole reason we won that war is because of all the praying that went on by wives , girlfriends sisters , brothers and especially mothers , I hate to be doom and gloom ,but like the past , roaring twenties imorality , depression , and then war . look at today

  • I love this song and this movie!
