Too cool. I remember all those places when I was a kid, and cruising Van Nuys in the 70s. It's so far away now, curious to see it all now but I might get depressed so I'll hold the memories.
Wow.. lifes timing is scary. I was surfing Dr Demento songs....trying to forget about the current dramma in my life....and I click on this by chance..... and find an Elliott Smith song....this song in particular....wonder what the heck god is trying to tell me now. drink up baby... she did....
great vid..love those 70's images of LA....that the USA I longed to visit as a British 10 year old...when I eventually did 30 years later...oh dear..it's changed!!
To calking420, the ride at 11 to 14 seconds was at Busch Gardens in Van Nuys, at the Anheiser Busch Brewery at Roscoe and the 405. It was there between 1967 and about 1980.
@theresaruf...this is a public forum, you arrogant ass...if you need your words to be in confidence with Tommy, then send a personnel message to him...
@theresaruf If a native has a problem differentiating, they're a moron. Snob=correcting someone by commenting multiple times to their note addressed to someone else, to try and feel superior because of your "great" common knowledge that the valley is in L.A. I don't like getting unnecessary messages and e-mails with stupid content when I am talking to someone else. I got TWO from you. It's annoying and rude. It was/is a waste of your time and mine.
@theresaruf...wow, you don't have to be such a snob about it...i was just pointing it out, because a lot of people (natives too ) have this common misconception that the Valley is separate from L.A...
@conni70 Again, note was addressed to TOMMY who would know I was referring to the CITY, NOT the COUNTY of Los Angeles, and his Los Angeles endeavor vs VALLEY RELICS. :::rolling eyes:::
@conni70 Thanks for stating the obvious. He knows what I was talking about, and it was again directed to him. He has 2 separate endeavors, one for VALLEY RELICS and he also highlights LOS ANGELES historical stuff. Jeezus people have too much time on their hands and are too GD nosey.
Wow Tommy,... I hope you're applying for/getting grantts and such for all you're doing to preserve the history of the SF Valley (AND L.A.)!!! Such great stuff. Your old pix (and now video) are actually making me homesick. (Grew up in Hollywood and then the valley.) Didn't think it would be possible to miss either/or.
