Legends and Lore of Illinois Presents: Shoe Factory Road

Shoe Factory Road is a little-known place of folklore in Hoffman Estates, IL. It was formerly home to two abandoned buildings: an old schoolhouse and a farm. In the past decade or so, both of these places became the subject of numerous ghost stories.

In this video, Michael Kleen, the author of the Legends and Lore of Illinois, explains the appeal that these places have to bored teenagers.

I pass thru this road all the time and I was bummed when they torn down the old houses that were there. Also that old farm where they found a laos asian kid dead inside it years ago...

i wasnt there for any of this but they heard and saw the usual stuff you would see at a haunted place. whats weird is he tells me when he got home he went to his room and was on his bed. when he stepped off he says something grabbed his ankle and he fell over
