I don't know why, but at the beginning, I had an urge to laugh (I'm not cold-hearted). My mom was crying though.

I have to say thank you for warning about spoilers. Not everyone says that. I am gonna wait to watch this until after I see the movie.

I agree Sean - I myself am a longtime Trekkie from back in the day :) And I went into the theater w/ low expectations, and I ended up actually enjoying the movie alot! Orci and Kurtzman did an excellent job writing the script and JJ Abrams did a fantastic job directing - my only complaint is the overuse of the "lense flair" effect - but the major special effects of the space battles - music was excellent, Zoe Saldana is HOT - "Uhura"!! And everyone else did a great acting job too!!
