Erbil originally was mostly Turkmen habitated city with a number of Assyrians (Christians), little by little the surrounded areas (villages) which are kurds-habitated start to emigrate to the downtown and as aresult today kurds exceeded Turkmen's population due to the appropriate historic conditions served kurds, this is the real fact if u like it or not, everyone should accept the truth not to say what speech serves his nation.

Unfortunately we do not have linguists who specialize in these matters and record keeping is very poor or uncommon in our culture thats why no one knows where the heck did the word HAWLER came from at all. it is the same word only it was changed. The transformation briefly looks like: { ARBA I(E)LLO - E(A)RBIL - ERWIL ELWIR or EWLIR - HEWLIR or HAWLER
